Flexible Jaw Couplings
They consist of two jaw hubs (the aluminum parts shown in your picture) and a flexible spider insert fitted between the interlocking jaws. Hubs can be manufactured from aluminum alloy, steel or stainless steel, with clamping or set-screw locking structures for shaft mounting. The spider insert is normally made of PU or rubber
Working Principle
Torque is transmitted via compression of the elastomeric spider between the two hubs. The flexible insert absorbs vibration and shock loads, while accommodating minor axial, radial and angular misalignment between two shafts.
